Yoel Cubillas claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour

Experienced Cuban Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's leader AD Isidro Metapan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 33 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat San Salvador (#3, 3-1) 88-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Metapan to consolidate first place in the Salvadorean Liga MB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Metapan already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Cubillas had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Metapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cubillas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 24.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 3.3bpg,3.3spg and 65.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Marc Montavious (202-C-1990) of A.Lobos BKB. Montavious impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led A.Lobos to another comfortable win outscoring Santa Ana (#10, 0-4) 94-52. This victory allowed A.Lobos to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Montavious is one of the most experienced players at A.Lobos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#9). He also registered 12.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Eliezer Sanchez of ITD Santa Tecla BC (#4). Sanchez showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Santa Tecla, leading his team to a 77-63 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Brujos (#6, 2-2). Santa Tecla needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Sanchez has a great season in El Salvador. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 18.3rpg (3rd best).
